for games and animation and graphics designing it depends more or less solely on a graphics card.for tasks like copying and installation uses ram. blowaway specs but just replace the phenom with a core i7 which has hyperthreading,so essentially works like 12 core cpu.also replace the radeon 5870 with 5850 which costs less and consumes less power giving about 9% less performance.the 5870 uses extreme huge godforsaken magically huge power.if u can shell out some more cash go then for the 5890 or nvidia 480.and last but most important,make sure u have the power requiremnts sufficient.

What memory/ram should I get? What do you recommend?
I have an ABIT NF-M2SV/NF-MCP61 motherboard with a 1.9ghz AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core CPU and dual channel memory slots. What DDR2 ram speed should I get or supports my system: 533, 667, 800, or 1066 MHz? Also, does my system support low/high density? I just recently upgraded to Windows Vista Black Eternity (another version of Ultimate) and it lags possibly because I only have 1gb Corsair 533mhz ram in there right now. I tried Crucial.com and it says I can use 800mhz Can I get this?.... your pc should support 1066mhz so i'd probably look into getting that. Vista supports up to 32 gig of ram, but in my opinion over 8 gig is overkill. So i'd probs get 2 x 2gig of 1066, or maybe a single 4 gig 1066. The other thing you failed to mention was how many ram slots your mother board has. If you want a good pc you should try to utilize all the slots even if you only have 1 gig in each hope i helped
